U.S. Army buys Scorpion Light mortar systems
The US Army awarded a $12.9 million agreement for the 81 mm Scorpion Light mortar system integrated on the Infantry Squad Vehicle-Utility. The vehicle carries 72 mortar rounds and combines a digital fire-control system with Nett Warrior connectivity, allowing crews to receive fire missions, engage and relocate rapidly. The announcement confirms integration and procurement activity but does not disclose the number of systems ordered, receiving units or a complete fielding timetable.
