U.S. Army robot mule contest gets BLADE’s Hunter WOLF
BLADE, formerly HDT, is one of six companies selected for the U.S. Army's Infantry Last Tactical Mile prototype effort, offering its Hunter WOLF unmanned ground vehicle. The six-wheel platform combines diesel-electric hybrid propulsion with autonomous mobility for frontline resupply, casualty evacuation and mobile electrical power. BLADE states that Hunter WOLF can carry approximately 2,800 pounds and negotiate steep terrain, supporting infantry formations without requiring troops to carry the full logistics load. Production-ready prototypes are due for Army unit assessments in early 2027, with the results intended to inform subsequent procurement decisions rather than guarantee a production award.
