U.S. Army speeds up testing for new command system

The U.S. Army is testing competing Next Generation Command and Control prototypes with the 4th and 25th Infantry Divisions, led respectively by Anduril and Lockheed Martin. A shared data foundation selected in June now connects the approaches, with Anduril leading that layer while both teams retain responsibility for their divisions’ complete hardware and software stacks. Army testers use an Azure-hosted, Secret-level data mesh to collect exercise telemetry directly, reducing assessment delivery from months to one or two weeks. The service targets division-wide fielding within five years but has not set a full-rate decision date.
