U.S. Navy and U.S. Army order more Phalanx guns
Raytheon received a $247.1 million sole-source contract covering production, upgrades, conversions and overhaul of Mk 15 Phalanx, land-based Phalanx and SeaRAM systems for the U.S. Navy and Army. Work is expected to continue through September 2030, with about $240.6 million obligated at award, although specific system quantities were not released. The purchase sustains close-in defenses that use rapid-fire guns or missiles as a final layer against cruise missiles, drones, rockets and mortars on ships and at fixed operating locations. Foreign military customers may also receive equipment under the award.
