U.S. Navy Establishes RASWDC To Accelerate Unmanned Systems Integration

The U.S. Navy has established the Robotic and Autonomous Systems Warfighting Development Center at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story in Virginia. The organization will concentrate command responsibility for developing concepts, training, command-and-control practices, and operational integration for uncrewed maritime systems, replacing a more dispersed development structure. Its phased implementation is intended to align experimentation with fleet requirements and accelerate the transition of autonomous surface and undersea capabilities from prototypes into deployable forces that can operate safely and effectively alongside crewed ships in combat worldwide.
