U.S. Navy warship gun program heads toward new contract
The U.S. Navy is gathering industry information ahead of a possible new engineering and technical support contract for shipboard Gun Weapon Systems. Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division issued a request for information covering services that may sustain, develop, test and assess naval gun equipment and related technologies. The potential contracting structure would combine firm-fixed-price and cost-plus-fixed-fee elements, allowing the service to consider both defined tasks and more variable engineering requirements. Industry responses are due October 29, 2026; the notice is preliminary market research and specifies neither an awarded contractor nor a confirmed contract value or procurement quantity.
