U.S. Plans $2 Billion Underground Network for New LGM-35A Sentinel ICBM Intercontinental Ballistic Missile

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is preparing a $1.4 billion-to-$2 billion construction project for the LGM-35A Sentinel missile field at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana. Updated solicitation W9128F26SM024 calls for approximately 2,816 to 3,581 kilometres of underground communications infrastructure linking launch facilities, launch centres and command nodes, with industry responses due September 24, 2026. The hardened network must cross roads, railways, rivers and remote terrain while supporting resilient nuclear command and control. Sentinel plans encompass 400 operational missiles, 450 recapitalised silos and more than 600 facilities nationwide.
