U.S. plans major F-35 weapons expansion with AARGM-ER, LRASM, JSM and StormBreaker in 2027, Meteor and SPEAR 3 in 2032

The F-35 programme plans to field AARGM-ER, LRASM Capability Increment 1, the Joint Strike Missile and GBU-53/B StormBreaker in September 2027. The same release is scheduled to add Integrated Fire Control, electronic-attack and countermeasure improvements, enhanced emitter identification, an AIM-9X Block 2/2+ data link and multisensor infrared search-and-track capability. Meteor and SPEAR 3 integration is planned for 2032, extending the aircraft's air-to-air and precision-strike options. These dates come from the fiscal 2027 Modernized Selected Acquisition Report and represent planned fielding milestones rather than confirmed operational availability.
