U.S. Space Force Selects Texas DARC Radar to Track Enemy Satellites in Geostationary Orbit

The US Space Force selected a Texas site for a Deep Space Advanced Radar Capability installation under a Northrop Grumman contract modification worth about $216 million. DARC is intended to detect and track objects in geosynchronous orbit, including satellites that maneuver or present potential threats. The Texas array will form part of a three-site network shared by the United States, Australia and the United Kingdom to provide persistent global coverage. Full operational performance depends on completion and integration of all geographically separated sites and the associated command-and-control network.
