UK firms to use Ukraine battlefield data for AI drone swarm development

Up to 12 British companies will gain secure access to Ukrainian battlefield data through the Avengers AI initiative, making the United Kingdom the first international partner admitted to the program. The dataset contains more than six million object detections covering tanks, artillery, air defenses, infantry, and aerial systems, and the British government is inviting proposals to use it for drone-swarm and autonomy development. The work aims to improve target recognition and coordinated operations in jammed or GPS-denied environments while retaining human oversight over consequential decisions.
