UK Instro unveils DEODE to blind drone sensors and counter fibre optic FPVs with directed energy

British optical specialist Instro unveiled DEODE, a directed-energy dazzler intended to disrupt or disable the electro-optical sensors used by hostile drones. Because it attacks cameras rather than radio links, the concept is relevant against fibre-optic first-person-view aircraft that are resistant to conventional electronic jamming. A precision optical effect could provide a reusable, low-cost defensive layer while reducing reliance on missiles or gun ammunition.
