UK says Kuwait buys $489 million air defence system

Kuwait agreed to purchase a £370 million, approximately $489 million, counter-drone air-defence system from UK-based MARSS, according to an announcement by the British government. The package includes radars, electronic jammers, interceptors and an AI-enabled command centre designed to detect, classify and defeat unmanned-aircraft threats. The deal is expected to support around 100 engineering and manufacturing jobs in Bristol while giving Kuwait an integrated national counter-UAS capability. Public statements did not disclose equipment quantities, deployment locations or a detailed delivery schedule, and the announced value covers the overall system rather than a single interceptor or sensor type.
