Ukraine conflict: UDCG, EU pledge air defence systems, UAVs, and artillery shells to Kyiv

At a September 8 Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting, partners announced additional air defence, drones and artillery ammunition for Kyiv. Britain pledged £100 million through the PURL mechanism for air-defence missiles before year-end and reported delivery of 25,000 of a planned 120,000 drones. Participating countries also outlined a package of one million large-calibre artillery rounds, plus tens of thousands more, financed by seven states. These are coordinated pledges with different procurement and delivery schedules, so announced quantities should not be treated as equipment already present with Ukrainian units.
