Ukraine Drone Procurement Hits 5.5x 2025 Pace as FPV Deliveries Surge
Ukraine's Ministry of Defence reported a roughly 5.5-fold increase in drone contracting over a recent, unspecified period compared with 2025, without clarifying whether that indicator measures airframes or contract value. FPV attack-drone contracts for 2026 already exceed the total contracted during all of 2025 by 54%, while reported deliveries have increased almost 3.7 times. The procurement effort covers drones with different battlefield roles, including tactical attack systems and longer-range strike platforms, supported by expanded domestic manufacturing and international assistance. These are contracting and delivery indicators, with the ministry's figures distinguishing signed orders from equipment actually supplied to military units.
