Under new deal, U.S. military buys non-standard weapons

U.S. Special Operations Command included Global Military Products among contractors eligible to compete for orders under a five-year, $19.5 million indefinite-delivery vehicle for non-standard weapons and support items. The scope covers U.S. and foreign-origin arms, ammunition and protective equipment used for training, testing, operational needs or assistance to partner forces whose inventories are not based on standard American systems. The award establishes a purchasing mechanism rather than an immediate acquisition of disclosed weapons, and individual quantities, recipients and delivery schedules will depend on subsequent task orders.
