US Air Force Seeks to Revive Four KC-10 Extender Tankers for North Africa

The U.S. Air Force issued a sources-sought notice for industry options to regenerate up to four retired KC-10 Extender tankers for an undisclosed North African partner. The potential Foreign Military Sales or Excess Defense Articles effort would include aircraft return-to-service work, ferry preparation, training, contractor logistics support and three to five years of sustainment. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center responses are due October 28, 2026, under notice FA8625-27-R-B001. The action is market research rather than a request for proposals or contract award, and the prospective recipient, final aircraft quantity, price and delivery schedule have not been identified.
