US Army picks VIKING UGV for autonomous breaching trials

IDV USA is one of four industry participants selected for the U.S. Army's Engineer Autonomous Breaching Capability experiment, offering its VIKING uncrewed ground vehicle. The program will evaluate robotic platforms able to help detect and clear mines or other obstacles while keeping combat engineers farther from direct fire and blast hazards. Participation provides access to trials and potential follow-on opportunities, but it is not a production selection or fleet-wide procurement decision; the Army will compare performance, autonomy, payload integration, reliability, and operator workload before determining its next acquisition steps.
