US Gunmaker SIG Sauer Unveils XRAY9-CUAS Counter-Drone Optic With 300-Yard Reach
SIG SAUER unveiled the XRAY9-CUAS electro-optic at AUSA 2026, advertising drone tracking and engagement support out to 300 yards depending on target size. A shortwave-infrared laser rangefinder and onboard slew-rate sensors calculate distance, speed and movement vector to generate a dynamically adjusted aiming reticle. The optic can integrate CMOS and thermal sensors for daytime, nighttime and fused imagery, adapting targeting technology from the company's remote weapon stations to a weapon-mounted package. SIG lists a weight of 24 ounces and up to 50 hours of continuous battery operation, but the unveiling did not announce a military procurement or independently validated engagement results.
