US Navy Awards HII $5.1B USS Truman Aircraft Carrier Contract to Refuel CVN 75 by 2031
HII's Newport News Shipbuilding division received a U.S. Navy contract with a ceiling near $5.1 billion for the refueling and complex overhaul of USS Harry S. Truman. The work will refuel the carrier's reactors and modernize propulsion, combat and ship systems while restoring thousands of compartments and tanks for another service period. The availability is scheduled to run through November 2031, making it one of the Navy's largest and most technically demanding maintenance projects and a major workload anchor for the Virginia shipyard. Options could raise the total slightly above the initial ceiling.
