The U.S. Navy is pursuing a NextGen Submarine Rescue System (NGSRS) for 72-hour global response to deep-sea emergencies. The system would rapidly deploy to reach distressed submarines worldwide. It replaces aging rescue assets with modern capability. The program addresses critical undersea survivability requirements.
