US Navy Orders $66M MQ-4C Triton Retrofit to Standardize US and RAAF Fleets

Naval Air Systems Command awarded Northrop Grumman a $66.04 million fixed-price order to retrofit fielded MQ-4C Triton unmanned aircraft operated by the U.S. Navy and Royal Australian Air Force. Announced on October 5, the work covers recurring engineering, materials and spares for 33 engineering change proposals, comprising 17 Navy changes and 16 Australian changes rather than 33 aircraft. Completion is scheduled for June 2030 to support fleet standardization and mission readiness. Navy procurement funds provide approximately $53.6 million and Australian cooperative-program funds $12.4 million, while the affected airframe count and individual modifications remain undisclosed.
