US Navy seeks contractors for $15b Puget Sound shipyard dry dock project

The US Navy is seeking contractors for a Puget Sound multi-mission dry dock and waterfront construction framework with a $15 billion aggregate ceiling. The multiple-award contract has a five-year base and five-year option, with proposals due December 1, 2026, and approximately five contractors expected to be selected in 2027. The pressure-relieved dock in Bremerton will accommodate Ford- and Nimitz-class carriers, other surface ships and submarines, supported by separate marine, infrastructure and caisson work packages. The first major marine task order is anticipated in June 2028, with main dock construction around 2030, while the shipyard continues maintenance operations.
