US Navy Selects L3Harris VAMPIRE for Littoral Counter-Drone Defense

The US Navy selected L3Harris's Vehicle-Agnostic Modular Palletized ISR Rocket Equipment system for littoral counter-drone defense. Known as VAMPIRE, the self-contained pallet combines sensing, fire control and guided rockets and can be fitted to different vehicles or fixed positions. The maritime configuration is intended to detect, track and defeat small unmanned aircraft near ships, bases and coastal forces, with other sensors integrated as required. The Navy did not publicly disclose the number of systems, contract value, delivery schedule or initial operating location for deployment across the littoral force.
