US Soldiers Could Soon Command Abrams Sensors and Drones by Voice
General Dynamics Land Systems has signed a master teaming agreement with Primordial Labs to integrate natural-language control into Abrams tanks and other future ground combat vehicles. Announced on October 7, the effort combines Primordial's Anura interface with autonomy software so crews can express mission objectives and constraints in familiar military language. The system is intended to coordinate onboard sensors, displays, communications and unmanned aircraft using local processing, including without an external network connection. Integration also draws on tactical mapping tools, but the agreement does not announce a contract value, delivery schedule or a specific Abrams configuration receiving the capability.
