USAF seeks new wide-range IR surveillance capability
The U.S. Air Force is seeking industry proposals for a Wide Area Infrared Surveillance system tailored to expeditionary operations and Tactical Air Control Party units. WAIS is intended to improve organic target development using land- and sea-domain intelligence. The requirement also calls for machine-to-machine data exchange across joint and coalition networks and better integration of ISR systems within each area of responsibility. Resilient, redundant and survivable communications are another central requirement.
