York Space Systems to Support Space Force’s SDN

York Space Systems received two US Space Force task orders supporting development and demonstration activities for the Space Data Network. Delivery Order 2 addresses multi-vendor interoperability with the SDN-Backbone constellation, examining ways to connect spacecraft and ground elements through multiple data-exchange pathways. Delivery Order 3 supports Phase A of a Space Exchange Point on-orbit demonstration, including bus-to-payload interface definitions and payload-integration planning for potential subsequent prototyping. The work applies York's spacecraft and ground-system capabilities to the future military communications architecture, but the company has not disclosed award values, a flight-demonstration schedule or a production quantity of satellites.
