Adani, IRRPL sign AK-203 ammunition production agreement
Adani Defence and IRRPL, the Indo-Russian joint venture associated with AK-203 rifle production, have signed an agreement to manufacture 7.62 by 39 mm ammunition in India. Announced on September 3, the arrangement is intended to deepen local supply for the rifle programme and support India's broader emphasis on domestic defence manufacturing. It links ammunition output to an established small-arms industrial partnership rather than creating a new weapon design. Neither company disclosed the contract value, annual production volume, plant location, customer allocation or schedule for reaching full-rate output.
