HII wins five-year US Army contract for advanced airdrop technologies
HII's Mission Technologies division has received a five-year U.S. Army task order to research improved airdrop and combat-feeding techniques for soldier sustainment. The work covers cargo and personnel delivery using precision-guided and conventional systems from crewed and uncrewed aircraft, with emphasis on reliability, safety, interoperability, sensing, autonomy, and cybersecurity. The task order was issued through the Defense Technical Information Center's Information Analysis Center contract for the Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Soldier Center; its value was not disclosed, and the award funds research rather than immediate fielding of a single product.
