AFRL certifies Anduril Barracuda-M munitions as WOSA-compliant
The Air Force Research Laboratory certified Anduril's Barracuda-M family as compliant with the Weapon Open Systems Architecture after a four-day evaluation across 14 technical domains. AFRL described the family as the first weapon already in large-scale production to complete an independent WOSA verification. Standardized interfaces should allow seekers, navigation components, propulsion, payloads and software to be replaced or upgraded without redesigning the entire munition, supporting faster integration of new capabilities and reducing dependence on a single vendor's proprietary architecture over the system's life. That approach also encourages competition among qualified subsystem suppliers.
