US Army Taps Lockheed Martin for $117M Apache Radar Frequency Interferometer Support
The US Army awarded Lockheed Martin a $117.1 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for post-production support of the Apache helicopter's Generation II Radar Frequency Interferometer. The AN/APR-48B passive sensor detects, identifies and locates radar emissions, prioritizes threats and cues the aircraft's fire-control radar and survivability equipment. The agreement combines cost-no-fee, cost-plus-fixed-fee and firm-fixed-price terms, with work locations and funding determined through individual orders and completion estimated for October 12, 2031. It sustains the existing sensor fleet as Lockheed develops a Generation III replacement, covering support activity rather than announcing a new production order for replacement sensors.
