Europe's Ariane wins Amazon boost at space gathering
Amazon's Project Kuiper, now branded Amazon Leo, ordered six additional Ariane 6 launches from Arianespace, taking its total commitment to 24 missions through 2031. The new flights are expected to use the four-booster Ariane 64 configuration beginning in 2029. Amazon has already placed satellites into orbit on Ariane missions as it builds a broadband constellation to compete with established networks. The order strengthens Ariane's commercial backlog and production case, although execution depends on launcher cadence, satellite availability and successful future missions on the planned timetable.
