Canik demonstrates BMP-1 rearmament concept
Canik displayed a proof-of-concept BMP-1 modernization at MSPO 2026 that replaces the original turret with Unirobotics’ Trakon Core 30 remote weapon station. The installation carries an AEI Systems 30×113 mm Venom LR cannon with 150 ready rounds and permits the operator to remain under armour. Weighing about 650 kg when loaded, the turret is intended as a relatively low-cost upgrade for large fleets of stored or ageing vehicles. The exhibit demonstrated technical feasibility on a tracked chassis, but no customer order or fielding programme was announced.
