A CH-53K King Stallion has demonstrated the ability to lift and transport a second helicopter in a test validating its heavy-lift and combat recovery mission profiles. The test confirms a critical operational capability for the Marine Corps, enabling aerial recovery of downed rotary-wing assets from the battlefield. The CH-53K's three-engine configuration and composite rotor system provide significantly greater lift capacity than its CH-53E predecessor.
