Challenger 3 tank timetable under review
Britain is reviewing the timetable for the Challenger 3 main battle tank program as integration and testing continue. The project upgrades 148 Challenger 2 hulls with a new turret, a NATO-standard 120-millimeter smoothbore gun, modern sights, digital architecture and improved protection. A schedule review signals potential movement in planned initial or full operating milestones, but it does not itself cancel the program. The Ministry of Defence has not yet published a definitive replacement timetable, making any precise revised service-entry date premature for British armored formations.
