Satellite imagery suggests China's fourth carrier could rival Ford class in size
Satellite imagery of China’s fourth aircraft carrier under construction at Dalian shows a bulbous bow and a projected length of roughly 336–339 metres, placing it near or slightly above the Ford class in size. The ship, commonly called Type 004, appears to be assembled from large prefabricated sections, although Chinese authorities have disclosed neither its specifications nor propulsion system. Its dimensions and two large internal compartments have renewed speculation that it could become China’s first nuclear-powered surface warship, but that assessment remains unconfirmed.
