China's next aircraft carrier could be the longest vessel in the People's Liberation Army Navy fleet, according to South China Morning Post analysis of available intelligence and imagery, suggesting a continued expansion of Chinese carrier strike capability. The vessel would exceed the dimensions of the Fujian, China's most advanced current carrier, which itself employs electromagnetic catapult launch technology. If confirmed, the programme would represent a further step toward a blue-water power projection capability commensurate with US supercarrier operations.
