JIATF-401, Army Establish $7 Billion In Counter-Drone Contracts For Domestic Shield
The Army and Joint Interagency Task Force 401 established nearly $7 billion in contracting capacity to accelerate counter-drone purchases for the Domestic Shield mission. The enterprise vehicles are designed to provide layered sensors, non-kinetic effects, and kinetic interceptors to military, federal, state, and local users, with access also contemplated for close allies. The amount is a combined ceiling across potential orders, not a commitment that all funds have already been obligated or that one supplier has won the entire program. Users can place tailored orders rapidly, avoiding the delay of establishing a separate competition for every local installation.
