British drone-killer startup heads to Japan with cheap interceptors
British startup Cambridge Aerospace plans to manufacture its Skyhammer counter-drone interceptor in Japan and offer it to the Japanese Ministry of Defense. The company says each missile would cost tens of thousands of dollars, far less than conventional air-defense rounds, while providing more than 30 kilometers of range and a top speed near 700 kilometers per hour against Shahed-type drones and slower cruise missiles. Production in Japan and a government sale remain proposed rather than contracted, even though Britain has already ordered Skyhammer systems for its own forces and Gulf partners.
