BAE, Space Systems Command Complete Critical Design Review For Epoch Two Constellation
BAE Systems and US Space Systems Command completed the critical design review for the Epoch Two missile-warning and tracking satellite constellation. Passing the review indicates that the spacecraft and ground architecture are mature enough to proceed toward manufacturing, integration and further verification. The constellation is intended to improve detection and tracking of advanced missile threats from orbit and feed timely data to US command networks. It remains a development milestone rather than proof of on-orbit performance, and detailed launch timing and final constellation size were not announced.
