Estonian division develops capabilities
Estonia is continuing to build its re-established division into a formation able to defend the border immediately and strike military targets at depth. The division combines the 1st and 2nd Estonian brigades with the United Kingdom’s 4th Light Brigade Combat Team and an attached French battlegroup held ready to deploy. Its artillery includes six HIMARS launchers, K9 and CAESAR howitzers, while Estonia is procuring three more HIMARS and nine Chunmoo launchers. The structure also relies on allied reinforcement and may be affected by future U.S. force-posture decisions.
