U.S. Navy Orders Five Expeditionary Repair Facilities to Support Dispersed Operations Across Pacific
The US Navy awarded IS4S a $47.77 million firm-fixed-price contract for five deployable Expeditionary Maintenance and Repair Facilities. The package includes 90 containerized Expeditionary Maintenance Repair Container prototypes and four variants, with work in Huntsville scheduled through September 2027. Designed for dispersed operations, the modules combine mobile power, digital manufacturing and repair equipment so forces can restore systems closer to the point of need across the Pacific. This is a prototype and operational-data effort supporting expeditionary logistics, not construction of permanent shipyards or five conventional dry-dock facilities.
