Air National Guard: 122nd Fighter Wing completes F-16 conversion, restores combat certification and deployment readiness status
The Indiana Air National Guard's 122nd Fighter Wing has completed its F-16 conversion program, restoring full combat certification and deployment-ready status. The wing transitioned from A-10 Thunderbolt II ground-attack aircraft, marking a significant shift in Air National Guard force structure toward multi-role fighter capability. The conversion increases the total F-16 capacity available to USAF operational commanders and COCOM requirements. The 122nd FW is now eligible for overseas deployment taskings under current Air Force force generation policies.
