Lockheed Martin says $114 million Space Force awards will upgrade GPS ground network for IIIF satellites and anti-jamming resilience
The US Space Force awarded Lockheed Martin two GPS ground-system task orders worth about $114 million to prepare for GPS IIIF satellites and improve resilience. A $96 million order modifies the operational control architecture for new payload functions, including encrypted M-Code and anti-jamming features, while a $17.5 million first phase begins replacing ageing hardware with an x86-based modular platform. Lockheed says GPS IIIF will provide up to 63 times the anti-jam capability of legacy signals. The awards concern ground control and modernization, separate from a $105 million launch-and-early-orbit services award made in April.
