Greenland Agreement Allows For Golden Dome System
A new United States, Denmark and Greenland security agreement permits future Golden Dome missile-defense elements to be installed in Greenland as part of expanded American military access. The island's Arctic position is valuable for sensors, communications and possible intercept architecture monitoring missile trajectories approaching North America, building on the existing role of Pituffik Space Base. The agreement creates legal and political scope for deployment but does not itself identify specific interceptors, construction sites, costs or an operational date for a Greenland component of the still-developing system.
