Pentagon wants new mobile radar to track hypersonic weapons
The US Missile Defense Agency is seeking industry concepts for a mobile radar that can detect and track ballistic, cruise, and hypersonic threats. The sensor must be transportable enough to relocate quickly, allowing commanders to reinforce gaps or create temporary coverage in contested regions. A deployable radar could improve warning and fire-control quality when fixed installations are unavailable, vulnerable, or poorly positioned.
