Army Adds $697.7M for Infantry Squad Vehicle Utility Cab, Winch Upgrades
The Army added $697.7 million to its Infantry Squad Vehicle contract for Utility variants, cab configurations, winches, and associated production or support. These changes broaden the commercially derived light vehicle beyond its original nine-soldier transport role, giving light formations more options for cargo movement, recovery, and mission-specific equipment. The modification confirms additional procurement activity, but the headline value should not be reduced to the price of the winch alone, and the available terms do not provide a simple per-vehicle cost or final fleet split. Field experience will determine whether the added configurations improve utility without compromising the vehicle's light weight and mobility.
