Israeli Navy looks to expand as war reshapes future force requirements
Israeli naval officials say the war with Iran has underscored the importance of protecting trade routes, freedom of navigation, and national economic interests, encouraging a broader future role for the service. The discussion coincides with the arrival of INS Drakon, Israel's sixth submarine and third air-independent-propulsion boat, while supply-chain constraints are increasing interest in domestic production and autonomous systems.
