Leonardo DRS Showcases JTT-X Hybrid SATCOM for Tactical Aircraft
Leonardo DRS has showcased JTT-X, a hybrid satellite communications terminal designed to give tactical aircraft resilient access to multiple government and commercial networks, including proliferated low Earth orbit constellations. The US Navy recently awarded the company a $39.6 million contract for engineering, production, qualification, aircraft integration and support on the EA-18G Growler. JTT-X uses a modular open architecture and secure encryption components to move threat, target and force-position data into aircraft mission systems. The terminal supports the Navy’s Global Lightning initiative by improving communications diversity, situational awareness and survivability in contested environments.
