Raytheon expands Lyntris cooling orders for U.S. Army's LTAMDS radar through 2028 as Patriot radar replacement enters full-rate production
Raytheon placed additional orders for Lyntris cooling equipment supporting Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor production through 2028. LTAMDS uses gallium-nitride active electronically scanned arrays to provide 360-degree coverage and is replacing the Patriot system's sector-limited legacy radar as production expands. The follow-on demand strengthens a critical component supply chain, although neither the number of cooling units nor the financial value of the orders was publicly released. Reliable thermal management is necessary to keep the radar's high-power electronics operating within temperature limits during sustained missions.
