Lithuania starts work on Leopard 2A8 tank assembly and repair plant, with €50 million investment and around 80 jobs planned
Lithuania has broken ground on a dedicated Leopard 2A8 main battle tank assembly and repair facility, with a planned investment of €50 million and approximately 80 jobs. The plant is designed to support Lithuania's Leopard 2A8 procurement program and will provide in-country maintenance and assembly capability, reducing dependence on foreign facilities for tank sustainment. The investment reflects Lithuania's broader defense industrial development ambition as it fields the most advanced Leopard variant currently in production.
